The TyroQuest Bestiary

Aetherion, the Sundered Wing

His very name recalls the celestial origin of all things: Aetherion, born of Aether—the pure essence believed to permeate the cosmos. Yet purity, though his birthright, could not restrain the desire that consumed him.

In an act judged catastrophic even by the highest pantheon, he renounced his divine nature, surrendering infinite grace for the fleeting pleasures of mortal existence. The choice shattered what he had been. His wings remain, but broken; his halo endures, but darkened.

He exists now as a living paradox: eternal power bound to mortal longing, a fallen divinity forever suspended between the heavens he abandoned and the flesh he chose.

Lord Valerius Nox, the Crimson Warden

He stands at the intersection of regret and steel. Valerius Nox—known now only by the name whispered in his wake, the Crimson Warden—is a monument to forgotten atrocities. His armor, jagged with exposed bone and stained deep crimson, serves as both shell and epitaph.

The blood that darkens his sweeping cape is no mere decoration. It is the physical residue of war crimes committed long ago: guilt made tangible, a curse powerful enough to bind him to the world until time itself dissolves into dust.

He is a relentless force of tragic reckoning—always seeking battle, always marked by the bloodshed he once commanded, and forever accompanied by the terrible echo of hooves across desecrated ground.

The main changes were to smooth the title sentence, remove a few redundancies, and sharpen the connection between his guilt and the curse. “A monument to forgotten atrocities” also reads more naturally than “a monument built upon forgotten atrocities,” while preserving the meaning.
